Description

The AS044 energy meter power supply is a 10W isolated multi-channel AC/DC flyback converter that has a special requirement to pass magnetic tampering using an iron dust core. The design is made to operate at 450V AC, and it has a capacitor saver function which will help in reducing the BOM and increasing the reliability. This reference design consists of an energy meter test bench that supplies the power to the energy meter, and an optical (IR) sensor to measure the energy meter data. Users can set various AC input and load conditions to measure error percentage with the smart Device Language Message Specification (DLMS) based 1-phase energy meter solution, where communication with a meter through DLMS can also be observed.

  • Configurable overload timer of the device allows 100msec peak demand of 2A
  • Pulse frequency Modulation (PFM) for light load implementation, pulse width modulation (PWM) changes from 50KHz to 3KHz
